Mission Statement
The mission of Shri Siddhivinayak Temple is to serve the community by offering a place to worship, practice spirituality, celebrate festivals and cultural activities. Shri Siddhivinayak Temple believes in Hindu Philosophy. The main Deity is Lord Ganesh, the Remover of Obstacles. Lord Ganesh is offered prayer before commencing any auspicious undertaking.
Uniting Through Prayers
The Temple is dedicated to the service of the community, where citizens of the community can congregate, offer prayers, attend the study group and group discussions. The goal of the temple is to bring like-minded people together, to unite through prayers, and arrange lectures of inspiring speakers to uplift people spiritually.
Festivals Conducted
Shri Siddhivinayak Temple will be celebrating various festivals that fall in a calendar year. The main event will be Ganesh Chaturthi, a ten-day event commemorating the birth of Lord Ganesh. The temple will also celebrate Thanksgiving Day as a "Service Day" to the community. Youth and adults will participate in the collection of food, distribution, and serving through the city's community service program and Senior Center. Shri Siddhivinayak Temple serves the community on three levels, Body, Mind, and Intellect.
Body
For the health and fitness of the body, the temple will conduct yoga classes on a weekly basis. Health seminars will be conducted with an emphasis on exercise and nutrition. Ayurvedic practitioners and physicians of different backgrounds will be invited to speak on various health issues. The temple's goal is to create a better society.
Mind
The temple will host cultural activities like music concerts, classical dance performances, and plays depicting Hindu mythology stories. Eminent artists from around the world will be invited to perform. The temple will encourage local and amateur talent to perform on various occasions. By organizing cultural events, the thirst of the mind is fulfilled.
Intellect
For the seeker of intellectual stimulation, the temple will focus on worship and philosophy. Regular worship can bring a sense of connection to a higher being, bring discipline, an offering of self, and shift focus to a more sublime aspect of life. Through ceremonies and worship, a spiritual seeker can find happiness and solace.
Philosophical Approach
Philosophy plays an integral part in spirituality. It gives scientific and rational meaning to the path of spirituality. That realization can be achieved through meditation and conscious practice in practical life. The temple will organize weekly worship and special ceremonies; there will be lectures by inspiring speakers on monthly basis and study groups on a weekly basis.
Community Participation
The community member of every generation should feel a sense of belonging; children can attend Sunday school, learn art and music, participate in talent shows. Youth will be given an opportunity to serve and learn about culture and traditions. Adult citizens can attend the temple for a spiritual purpose, serve the community by teaching in Sunday school, or have an artistic background, teach art: music, dance, painting. The senior members will have the opportunity to pass on wisdom, be mentors by guiding the younger generation to morals and values.
